ONTARIO BILL 145 - LEGISLATION TO FORCE STRIKING CUPE 3903 MEMBERS BACK TO WORK
On Sunday, January 25th, the Ontario Liberal government introduced Bill 145 and asked for the unanimous consent of the House to pass legislation to force striking Contract Faculty, teaching assistants and graduate assistants back to work at York University. All members of the NDP caucus opposed the bill, refused thier consent, and so initiated three days of critical debate over this issue in the Ontario Legislature.
